A painting in tribute to Rick Bartow

Oregon artist Rick Bartow passed away last week. In tribute to him I have done a painting (I’ve posted two close ups of it already). I used aspects of several of his pieces in creating mine. There are similarities to his work but more differences. My piece sort of echoes him. Here is another close up. The full piece will be at the Artrails studio I will be displaying my work at in September.

Rick Bartow-artist

Yesterday I learned that an artist I had just learned about several years ago passed away a few days ago. Rick Bartow did fantastic work that caught my eye and touched me in a way few others do. He lived so close, just down the Oregon coast, yet I never had the opportunity to meet him. About a year ago I did a sketch of him from a video I saw online. Here it is. I would have loved to sit and talk with him.
